Anthropology 1030 Introduction to Archaeolgy

I am majoring in Art History for my bachelor’s degree and in Art Restoration for my master’s degree.  Archaeology compliments both of these degrees. In each field a person studies or researches the remains of the past to understand history.   Whether the remains are works of art or some other kind of artifact,   I think the goal is the same, to gain a better insight into the lives and societies of the past  by learning about their behaviors and beliefs though what they left behind.

Art Historians hypothesize about the meanings of paintings and works of art, like Archaeologists hypothesize about their field work.  I believe both would use similar principles to determine theory.
